Stop talking about anything other than the play-by-play from puck drop ti whistle.
Above all stop putting the name of the player who has the puck during power plays. It is distracting from, or even hiding, what other players are doing; it doesn't matter who has the puck to people who don't know hockey, but people who know hockey don't need to be told. I saw a shot from the left side on the attack, two attackers going to the net, two defense and the goalie and... the puck was hidden by the name that was uselessly on the screen.
Advertisers beware, I watch the games every other way possible and, when I can't, I turn it off during power plays and sometimes don't get back to it until well after the power play has ended.
Oh, stop explaining little things like offsides. Either the newbie will learn, or the newbie won't. Rules are easy to look up and moments where controversial calls are being reviewed give the entire explanation.
