I loved this book! From the moment I began reading I found myself intrigued by the story. I actually could not put this book down. It is beautifully written, Dorothy's early life is poignant and quite sad, then when finding comfort, purpose and companionship the irony is that for us reading it is infinitely sad to feel the manipulation and lies which no doubt destabilised her. I found myself wanting more, the chapters seemed to end quickly, but like any good book I was keen to know what was coming next.
The writing is succinct, concise, poetic in parts and straightforward in others, just a well written book, an interesting story and politically relevant in our current times. Really enjoyable is the personal insight and perspective not achieved except through the eyes of a daughter.
