Superman (2025) Review – What a Mess
I’ve never left a movie more confused than when I walked in—and Superman (2025) managed to achieve that rare feat. Like many fans, I was crushed when Henry Cavill was dropped, but I gave this film a chance. David Corenswet absolutely looked the part: tall, classic features, the suit was perfect. I even watched cast interviews and walked into the theater hopeful.
But wow. What a disappointment.
The film was confusing, slow, and filled with cringey jokes that made me wonder if it was a parody. It felt like a clumsy attempt at a superhero movie—honestly, like watching the Superman version of Madame Web. That’s how off everything was.
Superman himself felt weak, uncertain, and passive, needing help to win every fight. And then comes the plot twist (spoiler): instead of being sent to Earth to help, his Kryptonian parents apparently told him to destroy it. I mean... seriously?! How do you take such a rich setup and fumble it this badly?
This wasn’t just disappointing—it was a full-on waste of potential. A 1/10 from me, and that’s rare. James Gunn had the keys to a legendary character, and somehow, we ended up with this trainwreck.
