I only watched the preview so far and will watch the entire documentary tonight. But just based on the preview he states “in 1790 cotton harvests were 1.5 million pounds, and in a 70 year period jumped to 2.3 billion Pounds by 1860 do to slaves picking it…. But I know a little about history, and I know that the cotton gin was invented in 1794, making harvesting substantially more effective and faster, leading to the real reason for increased harvesting numbers. So now I’m skeptical about even watching the documentary.
