Underwhelming. It feels like a step back in quality. Maybe half an hour of post game, stuff that was better suited for the main plot. Story was hardly there, no impact and very predictable. Animations were plain. Fights were either very easy, or somewhat difficult, no in between or consistency in difficulty. Wild area was very fun, but quickly became boring, as it is rather limited. Little exploration, uninteresting characters, many awkward moments, jagged animations, etc. The game was very unpolished and not fleshed our well. It was very one dimensional, and after the honeymoon effect of a new game wore off, I was left with an unrewarding payoff and an obligation to finish the game. I can say, however, that the music was great, and I enjoyed some of the new Pokémon, but these aren’t enough to warrant the increased price of the game, or even the old prices. A step back in the franchise that leaves you unfulfilled and wondering if that really was all Gamefreak and Nintendo could do
