What an interesting and informative read. This told me what I have known since I was a teenager, that the prohibition of drugs and criminalising of addicts doesn’t work. I saw a similar undercover operation in my own town, around 80 per cent of those convicted were addicts coerced into helping what they saw as another vulnerable addict buy drugs. It baffles me that drug policy hasn’t been reviewed and that police officers actually believe they are doing the right thing. It sickens me how the vulnerable are treated. It needs to change. As a 19 year old with limited life experience I understood this. So how do others fail to understand this. It blows my mind and just proves that some just don’t have the capacity to empathise with others.
