If, like me, you headed into this film with your engine for gravity-defying, logic-looping, action-packed car sequences on the blink then this film is either going to fill you right up and ready for the next instalment or leave you crashed and burned and wanting to be done with this once great and fun franchise. Fast X for me is one of if not the worst film in the Fast franchise. It’s finally happened but I think I’m done with this film series. The golden age will always be Fast 5-7, when the series started to become what it is today. And the streets will never forget the first few films that kicked off and shaped this entire franchise. But Fast 8, wasn’t very good. Fast 9 was better but started to lose me. Fast X may have just done the trick. These films like the characters in them, aren’t fun anymore like they used to be. In this film I found myself actively wanting Roman, Ludacris, Ramsey and Han to die as I was so bored by their subplot that I didn’t care about them anymore. It’s the same story with these characters every time that I’m sick of seeing it. Letty gets torn away from Dom so many times in these films maybe it’s time to finally tear them apart for good and kill her off too. Dom is the only one from the group I don’t want to see die. Ever. The rest of them, not so much. If Fast 11 is Dom teaming up with Jason Statham and The Rock to take on Jason Mamao’s Dante (who btw, is absolutely shocking in this film, so unbelievably bad that I couldn’t take my eyes off him), then I’d be down. But it’s happened, Fast X has ruined the franchise for me. It’s just so bad.
