Gladiator II gives a backstory on the boy who spoke to maximus in the first film, revealing that as many believed, Lucius is maximus’ son. It develops the character to be an honourable warrior and peace-bringer to Rome.
The movie honours the predecessor by answering and questions and bringing a gripping plot as well as breathtaking action scenes.
