oh ma gad! I was excited to read this book as i was going through the first few pages.. it reminded me of my life a bit what with leering weirdos that exist here in hell where we live. I liked the era it was based in too. no cell phones! how refreshing!!!!! . . but😔 I cant get through the second chapter.. the author seems to want the world to know how smart she is. has this book been translated into English? because wholly faaaack!! the sentences are awkward to read. the wordings used! no one talks this way! n no one thinks they way the author portrays. maybe in her elite socialite of bazillionaires do. but definitely not normal everyday people. I cannot read the book smoothly like the other books I've read since kindergarten (I was one of 2 people that could actually read in KINDERGARDEN. I won an award for it!!! and didn't need to be taught through the school system.) I read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest for a book review in grade 6. My teacher could not believe I was reading at such a "high level of English" compared to the rest of the students in my class, let alone School! And I went to school in the city,!!! that means 44!!! students per class. 2 or 3 classes if the same grade even!!! i'm not an expert or anything. I always got in trouble with my run on sentences!!! , BUT I do know what a smooth read is, and this book is NOT it!! I'm actually very sad and DISAPPOINTED by it, cuz, I really did want to read this book!!! but it's so...... I don't even know how to explain how rigid it is to read this book. I'm quite saddened by the torture of trying to read some of these sentences. better off stabbing a needle in my eye then reading this book. 😢
