This is a really great work. Definitely felt very slow and it only seems to start speeding up around 3/4 in. I put it on as background noise but was drawn in by the concept, lonely caretaker son fills social gaps in his life by making "connections" through watching tapes. I think the producers of this movie did a great job demonstrating his spiral into madness, even though it does take quite a while.
One thing I noticed throughout the movie was that at times, Andy's voice would clear up, no fuzz from the TV speakers, but clear as if he was sitting right next to you. That was a masterful detail that is incorporated throughout the whole film to show how detached David is from reality.
The ending is a bit underwhelming, seemingly an hour and fifteen minutes for the release, but I really like where they ended up going with it. Extremely compelling! Visually eerie, the cinematography fit the overall mood of the film extremely well. Give it a watch!
