This show is technically very clever. The staging and lights very impressive and the venue very wheelchair friendly.
But the show is so flat with no real atmosphere. The sound at times was distorted and unclear which didn’t help.
The avatars are small and quite believable but are only on stage for just over half the run time. The rest of it is large screen images and a live band. Oddly enough the one track they did without “Abba” got the biggest cheer of the night.
And I think this is the core of the problem. Deep down the audience knew they were watching a computer effect and couldn’t cheer and respond like they would to a live band.
It’s worth seen as an experience but ABBA it is not.
