Shouldn't be compared 1 to 1 with the Disney version. It's a good movie and the animation and CGI blended with live actors flowed well. Admittedly some of the anthropomorphized expressions like smiles or grins on the animal seemed strange, but it was handled well in making them expressive at least. One character added only to be killed off to make a certain scene more powerful made me feel iffy as it definitely counts as just added for shock value/emotional turmoil, which is a cheap form of emotional investment, but overall I enjoyed the film as its own standalone adaptation of Mowgli's story.
