The Grand Budapest Hotel is a movie whereby, if you watch it numerous times, it only gets better.
Every scene is a picture postcard in its own right. This film is a Wes Anderson masterpiece on the power of friendship.
Set in wartime, with emotional and deep themes, GBH highlights the importance of relationships set amongst a sweet candy frosting. Not to mention its sophisticated and utterly hilarious comedic dialogue, you are whisked away amongst a powerful stellar cast who pop up in unexpected ways which further increase the delightful and moving tone of this film.
Watch it again, then again and try to pick up all of the jokes, innuendos and beautiful detailed artistry in this movie, it will continue to reveal more and more.
This is not a movie about Hungary, it could be set anywhere in wartime Europe and is set in a fictional place, which makes this film so relatable and feel like home in the memories of many people.
