I'm not one for Survival games, but this one is pretty neat. It appeals to my whole family as its a game we can all enjoy that is not overly violent or mindless. It's quite a struggle at the beginning as you learn how to play and try to keep from dying of thirst or hunger or shark, but its not an insurmountable challenge. Once you've got water and food worked out, drifting across the water as you sort your salvaged materials, plan upgrades for the Raft, and scrounge for more salvage is rather calming. Plus there's a storyline involved to round out the game. Not sure how long it goes, but we've sunk about 20 hours so far and there's lots of room to grow.
