When the film stayed with the original story, it was done well. It was when they embellished the story; for example, the young boy playing the violin (several times in the film), or the crowd of Gypsies hounding Harker outside the inn, the film was dreadful to watch.
Where they got it right; Dracula lementing about the absence of love or how immortality was worse than death, the viewer can pity Dracula.
