Giving this a one star - it was a really horrible and strange mash up of a really sweet family-friendly movie smashed together with Stranger Things. It could have been awesome but had a ton a seriously demonic, and satanic type stuff that was uber creepy and completely uncalled for, which, in the end, didn't flow well in the movie at all. Hate to say DC movies suck far worse than I thought they did. All of the really great scenes, (especially the family scenes, which had a completely fresh, wonderful take on foster homes and family dynamics), jokes and one-liners just couldn't redeem the movie from all the mystical stuff, cursing, murderous sandy demons, and scenes where the kids go in and out of an adult strip club several times, and with Santa Claus at the end saying the f-word and having it bleeped out over and over again. Just cringe-worthy over all. Sadly, it was a total joke. Also had the feel of that old, stupid Will Smith movie where he had super powers but was a total jerk. Wished I hadn't bothered to continue watching as I almost walked out after about 20 minutes. It honestly was like they took two completely opposite movies and just melded them together. A sweet, cool, funny, all-around family movie with a scary, adult-themed, foul-languaged, horror movie. So odd to say the least. Also, throwing in Bible verses and biblical themes suddenly and sporadically and letting them land wherever was weird.
