Simply put, a classic. We all had a friend or friends growing up who were like brothers. Having adventures, sneaking around trying adult things, experiencing many first in life together. Then as you get older, time and circumstances slowly pull you apart until memories are all that's left. And if by chance you see them years later, its as if their perfect strangers.

The only reason it doesn't receive a 5 star rating is because I would have enjoyed a more lavish depiction of the sinking like JC's version in 1997. But I understand the period of time brought the best it could, which isn't too shabby at all. Dare I say, if someone could take the more accurate approach of this movie with the spectacle of JC's but even more modern, you would truly have a time machine event on film.

This was, alongside pt.3, the only decent sequel. Freddy was no longer scary from a true horror standpoint by this movie. He was more a comically sadistic antagonist. Watch pt.1, 3, 4 for the best binge. Pt.2,5,6,7 is to be watched simply for completion.

This movie was supposed to be the last movie in the series at the time. And instead of a proper send off you get this. It was like they were intentially trying to kill fan's desire for more movies. Bad plot, campy actors, corny kills. Freddy's make up even looks cheap...like $5.00 kids halloween make up cheap. Pt.2 was even better than this. And that is truly a shame.

It is flawed yes, but overall it is a classic. If you can maneuver your mind into watching it as if you were in that time period (the 30's) you will enjoy it.

I own this movie and watch it from time to time. Its simply a popcorn movie, one you could watch with your kids. Or watch just to have a goofy time.

I give it a respectable 3 because by no means is it "good", not is it "bad". It's one of those late night popcorn movies you watch on the weekends that you find yourself pleasantly surprised that you enjoyed it. So much so that every now and then you'll come back and watch it for old time's sake.
