I was very critical of Korean historical-fiction dramas when I was in South Korea. I was not impressed with the storylines. However, since then the screenwriting and screen delivery have come a long way especially in "gender"-based definition of deep affection during the Joseon dynasty. This series displayed a vulnerable but sincere entwining of the expression of love and the deepest affection in human nature. Forgiving the obvious feminine features of the crown prince, the unique storyline of this drama series is what made me obsessed with it. Furthermore, it really did hit the spot on the reality of human conditions on all levels of a society even today. I thought the casting was well done as well. The sprinkle of humor was just right to make one smile or laugh. The tearful moments were heavy but relishing. I love the language delivery as well having a good grasp of the Korean language.
I hope to watch similar Netflix Korean TV series in the future.
