I found the movie to be slow paced, disturbing, depressing, lacking dimension. It lacked the ability to pull it all together. Although the viewer becomes involved, in the end, you are left to wonder just what the point really was.
Love is messy, confusing and often times does not travel the road we start out on and although that point came across, you are left to wonder, why they continued when they clearly knew the cost they paid would only lead them back to the same empty choice.
Love needs to be cultivated, nurtured and takes giving of yourself. Without those essential ingredients, love will die as a plant left without sun and water. It matters little if you are a wife, lover, child or priest, love is both an act of giving as receiving.
I found this movie to be based upon selfish hearts that only succeeded in isolating themselves.
Of all the characters, I found the child to be the only one with enough wisdom to truly see what the adults could not.
