i read the book a few years ago and fell in love with the story. ive read it so many times because its such a favorite. that being said, i was very disappointed with the show. the first couple episodes i really enjoyed, it stuck to the book pretty well and gave some more insight into the relationship between bess, carrie, and penny. but around about episode 3 or 4, the story completely shifted from the book and seemed like filler episodes to fill an 8 episode deal. the finale wasnt my favorite either, seemed different enough to make me not enjoy it. show had potential to be a great 4-5 episode series, but the writers really dragged out the plot in episodes 3-6
