This is a beautiful film, and an excellently done nod to its predecessor, the black and white silent Nosferatu. The whole movie pays tribute to it and itโs impossible to miss. Excellent performances by all. This stylized film has a lot to unpack and if you know anything about Surrealism, which is the art movement this film was originally made during, you will appreciate this film a lot more. The sensuous and sexual overtones and under tones are palpable and yet not at all overt or gratuitous. Yes, there is some lag time and it can feel a bit slow but if youโve ever seen a silent film, you will know this is deliberate. I love everything about this film!
