The movie is just bad. Hallie stenfield seems to be the only one with decent acting skills. Her southern accent was pretty good. But MBJ…… awful. Imagine the worst white southern accent ever, what’s worse is it’s not even close to a Mississippi accent. Scratching the surface would be a serious reach. Storyline doesn’t even know what kind of film it’s supposed to be. Does he run liquor with a blues band as a front? Is he running from a past we don’t really get flashbacks of? For no reason people just start having sex. Doesn’t move the film in one direction or the other. It just happens out of the blue, mid pointless conversation. Then a vampire just shows up. Nothing suggests they’re coming. Shows up to a cotton farm and notices a basic Klansman get up then just immediately becomes attached without any connecting basis. The klan also just seem to be placed in the film for some reason. I would tell you but I still don’t understand why. Also for some odd reason every klan suit is just out in the open proudly on display…… even though in the 30s klan wouldn’t just openly display that they’re in the klan on a random table in the house….. Usually you get a decent story or acting that carries the bad scripts over the finish line. But not in sinners. Again MBJ proves he has no real depth to his acting. The dude could’ve watched The Help to get a better Mississippi accent, Bad movie, basic camera shots, script sucks, acting is worse. IDK why anyone is obsessed with Ryan Coogler. He basically Vanilla Iced from dusk til dawn. Clipped here and there but basically a carbon copy. Only with genuine bad acting not satirical bad acting. Would rate zero but reviews won’t let me. Don’t waste your time with this one. It’s just all bad.
