How much liberties can one take from the original novel by Carol Wallace? The names of certain characters were present...and that's about all! This movie lacked character development and moreover there was absolutely no chemistry between any of the actors. To say that this 2016 version of Ben -Hur is a very poor adaptation of the novel is being generous. Exactly what was the purpose of the remake is beyond comprehension. Giving it 2 stars was generous.
