The main character is made to be so pathetic that no one could possibly sympathize/empathize. It's pure frustration that she is so dumb. And the crying... So much crying. That gets better towards the end but it's already too late. The writers/directors had to really force the suspension of reality for this one as the packs that first rangers carry would have everything they need including gps. I know, I know, it's a movie but it's just not enough effort. I think there is about almost 2 minutes of Mason character running in a dark forest. No. I can't deal with that, should never have been that long... No. To it's credit, if anyone can make it to the end, there is a twist. (Still dumb, though)
