Nicely done and a logical sequel to XCOM2 storyline. Gives us a perspective of what happens after a war (after every war) instead of the usual "Humanity won the day!". This time we get to see how keeping the peace post-war and keeping up with assimilation\integration between races are not so simple. We get to see aspects of racisms (speciesism) that we also see in our current world. The struggle of the different extraterrestrial species, who may have been brought to earth through no volition of their own, on integrating with Terran society and norms. The discrimination they face from the current Terrans that leads some race having no other choice but to take the extreme route vs the group that is trying their best to maintain peace despite the prejudice and discrimination they experience.
TLDR: Story has deeper meaning rooted in the common theme we see every day in post-war countries and the United States.
