I'm just going to point out a few things I saw in the movie that have not seen anyone mention before me.
SPOILERS!!
This movie:
1. Is too slow, too long. Found myself (as well as my husband) staring down at our cellphones for the time. When you think it's wrapping up... is not. Hold your breath a little while longer. Maybe Batman will get his sh!+ right this time. Nope. Wait some more, buddy.
2. There are elements of at least 4 other movies in here that made me cringe at how poorly they were used.
*The Saw- do you remember how the victims were placed under the craziest circumstances just to puzzle the audience as to how they would come out of it? Well... our victim here gets to play with a few rats that were locked inside a glass cage; this cage is attached to the victim's torso so the only way for the rats to escape the cage is.... yup, through the victim.
*Cowboys and Western movies- Almost every time Batman makes an entrance the sound is concentrated on his steps. It bothered me because the sound was not the clean deep one we got from other movies. It really clicked for me in this one scene where his steps actually sound like that of a cowboy in a wild west movie. Really!!! AND last but not least, there's a scene that was clearly copied from,
*Equilibrium- where Christian Bale bursts through a door and is all dark except for his silhouette as he gets shoot at. Well... Batman here gets a similar scene, but fails at it too.
3. Batman was as clumsy as a rookie in his moves. There's a scene where he has to jump off a building. He actually STOPS and acts surprised. Like he'd never done this before! In two other scenes he stumbles a landing (like he got entangled in his own cape.. lol. YES! )... Just messy.
4. The only scene where Bruce comes down the stairs in his home. - They made the place look very Gothic so... guess what? In that scene I found myself staring at the lanky-Twilight-Vampire-turned-batman. It was an awful choice! They failed to make you forget the actor and be drawn to Batman. And I love Pattinson. I don't think he was the problem so much as he shouldn't have been casted for this movie. (He is no Batman) and the script, with some of the dialogue was truly poor. The movie is a mix of at least four others and a Nancy Drew mystery. All over the place. Batman looked and sounded messy.
I'm sure there's so much more to say, but really... just wait for it to come to Netflix or your subscription of choice. A lot cheaper and perhaps slightly worthier then.
