This movie was very entertaining, if somewhat implausible in how the events unfold. But that's the movies for you; you gotta suspend your disbelief and just immerse yourself in the ridiculousness that is cinema.
Jason Bateman is almost exclusively known for comedic roles, but he was tremendous as the morally detached gun-for-hire in this movie. I don't think I've even seen him in a dramatic role before, but he was very believable in it. And I already knew how talented Taron Egerton was after playing Elton John in Rocket Man. Egerton's range of emotion here is palpable and it helps maintain the tension throughout the film as the viewer tries to place themselves in his very unfortunate shoes.
I'm not gonna do a synopsis of what the film is about (you can read the other comments or IMDb for that), but I will say... there's an action scene involving a car (and a bunch of other cars) that'll knock your socks off. That scene was intense, and I'm sure you'll agree.
Carry-On is a nice little popcorn flick to watch during the holiday season to take the stress off of worrying about presents and cooking Christmas dinner. I definitely recommend giving it a spin.
