The guy who just gave this film one star and described it as bad and boring needs to stick to Star Wars because he clearly can’t cope with an intelligent, beautifully shot, emotional, heart wrenching film like this. You missed so many nuances, like the trauma the soldiers saw, the waste of life and the age of the soldiers. They were boys. I came out wanting to learn more, read more. Stop reading reviews and go and see the film.

All these reviewers saying they found the film really confusing and difficult to follow must be really dumb. Seriously. It’s an adaptation of the book it’s not a literal filming of it word for word. It’s beautifully shot, fantastically acted and just a gorgeous film. I went with my 85 year old Mum who has Alzheimer’s and she followed it just fine, my Mother in law came too and she’s 78 and guess what she loved it. None of us had any problems “ following it”. Jo was so well cast, so was Amy. I loved Laura Dern I thought she was warm, progressive, loving, and Meryl Streep 10/10. None of us wanted the film to end, I’m going back to watch it again with a tub of popcorn. It’s a great film, ignore those daft reviewers who “couldn’t follow it”. Maybe they should have gone to Star Wars
