Perhaps just not my cup of tea and is more enjoyable to other readers. I felt it was long and drawn out. The beautiful writing is what pushed me through. I had hoped for a plot reward of some sort but I found myself dissatisfied at the end. If you read to escape reality, I would not recommend this book. It's a long dreary tale that in addition to the real world disappointments we experience every day, stacks on top of that new end of the world fears and issues. The hold out for some sort of luck at the end is dashed and i can tell you that it ends in anticlimactic dreariness.
