I feel like it has a lot of five stars because people don't want to criticize a female dominated movie. But this film never tracks from the start. It seems like McCarthy is reaching for punchlines that she never quite grabs. A lot of the things that make road trip comedies funny are just not there. There's no relatable material, there is no "that's happened to me" situations and a lot of the scenes and bits just seem forced into the script "because we have to" like the lesbian hosted party, the thank you for your service veteran and the countless raunchy humor bits that McCarthy heavily leans on. It never fails to take off and by the end I just couldn't wait for it to be over. Maybe if they had more jokes or good laughs it would have been a better movie but it's just another example of an actor playing into what made them famous. In this case it's the Melissa McCarthy formula of " non-existing self awareness fart jokes who wants to live the dumb s**t life ". Sometimes that works for people this time it worked for nobody....
