Egypt was colonized by the West, its monuments and artifacts were stolen, and Egyptians were excluded from their own history. Egyptology started out as a racist and imperialist discipline and Netflix is continuing this imperialist tradition. The least you could do when you do a "documentary" about someone's history and culture is consult with their academics and scholars and do a thorough research. You would think that a group that were marginalized for so long like the Black American community would not turn around and do the same to another underrepresented group that has long suffered from Western colonialism and its consequences.
And to whoever learned history on twitter and from documentaries and think that Egyptians were originally Sub-saharan Africans and that Africa is just one big country inhabited by the same people, please educate yourself and do your research. And by research I don't mean read a book or two written by biased authors or 19th and 20th century colonizers, I mean read every source you can find (both historical and scientific including DNA studies), and objectively evaluate their evidence. It will take you many years to study the history of a civilization that has been around for thousands of years, but you will be informed.
