Although I was forced to read this for English class, it was still a book I enjoyed overall as a reading hobbyist. The only issue I took with it was how the author was clearly biased in favor of Chris's actions. Chris's flaws felt miniscule compared to the way Krakauer illustrated him to be. He endlessly admires Chris's intelligence and charisma and defends his cause of death as accidental rather then ignorant. When flaws of Chris were brought up, they felt out of place or didn't match up to the image that had already been presented. Krakauer does admit within the authors note that he's not impartial, but it would have been welcomed to have a more objective then emotionally driven narrator at times.
(Hope this helps :D)
