Well this book is definitely not for everyone, with multiple descriptions of violence, s3lf h@rm, and just the main character being terrible. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Yes, the main character is pretty horrible throughout the entire book, but honestly it’s quite nice to have an unlikeable main character.
But the biggest thing I’ve found is that if you enjoy psychological thrillers, books that talk about mental health in a gruesome way, or just a book that will leave you terrified and uneasy. Then I wholeheartedly recommend This Darkness Mine.
[!spoiler warning!]
(Also side note, I’ve seen a few reviews talking about the medical inaccuracies, and well Im no doctor and can’t say that this book does or does not contain medical inaccuracies, I do want to just say that the part about her saying her sisters teeth are coming out through her gums does sound stupid and weird. It is explained later on that that was just pieces of her clarinet reed coming out of her gums that she mistook during her mental health spiral, as something that backed up her idea of what was happening)
Sorry
