Some films are for entertainment, while others make you think—but very, very few touches one's innermost depths. Sitaare Zameen Par is one of those rare gems. All laughter, all emotions, and, above all, the very message that will stay with you the whole duration of the credits.
The "Sitaares" in this film are the heart and soul. There is something full of charm about their sheer innocence, natural joy, and happiness in simple things. They show us what life is all about—to celebrate losses as well as victories. While most of us chase the idea of being perfect, these children show how to live stately.
There is this one dialogue that really hit me:
“Hum jaise bachcha koi nahi chahta sir",
Simple, yet it mirrors society. There is an unpleasant irony behind that innocent voice—while we feel admiration or pity for the specially-abled child, we hesitate to fully include him in our lives. That one line speaks a thousand words and maybe a little more.
A must-watch for every heart that has forgotten how to feel.
