I loved this film. I feel like it appropriately stereotyped the most common black / white realities and experiences in urban America. I loved the poking fun at the overbearing Jewish mom who produced the white privileged finance bro who thinks he understands black people because he listened to hip hop and has a black friend. Eddie Murphy is genius as ever and everything about that character is pure gold - and all totally accurate about appropriation and gentrification. And at the end of the day young people don't care, they just want to be loved, and they are going to hold us accountable to get there. I think for us to continue growing and healing, we have to dive in and dissect the complexities around identity politics, race, religion and all the messy intersections to really be able to understand and love each other. Folks who think this films is offensive are not ready to grow.
