I absolutely love this book. I read it to my kids a few years ago when they were in early elementary and then we watched the movie. It was the first novel my kids would listen to and liked. The boy really represents the kids I work with in elementary school now. Funny that it was written so long ago. It shows how important it is to foster a love of learning not just academics.
