It is rare that I watch a movie where I am already praying for it to be over by the halfway mark. Unfortunately, this is one of those movies. I won’t mock the opinions of others, but I genuinely don’t understand why there are so many five-star reviews. There was no reason whatsoever to care about any of the characters in this movie, most of which I don’t even remember for they were so forgettable and bland. The final segment was so thoroughly disappointing that I almost didn’t even bother finishing the movie. The ending battle was one of the most pathetic, shabby, and painfully cringeworthy action segments I have ever witnessed. As for the acting, almost everyone sounded either robotic or over dramatic, neither of which are good on their own, and especially not when combined together. As for the comedy…what comedy, exactly? Do you mean the horrendous one-liners that were repeated ad nauseam and with a flat form of delivery? I don’t think so. The only thing more upsetting than witnessing the decline of the superhero/villain genre was the lingering bitter truth that I had wasted 2+ hours on doing so. Really, truly, deeply disappointed, as I had been looking forward to an antihero story that this mishmash pile of wet cardboard failed to deliver.
