I am a fan of Korean historical dramas. Under the Queen’s Umbrella now ranks as one of my all time favorite. The acting was superb! Kim Hye-soo’s performance was splendid! She draws the viewer in from her first introduction. Kim Hae-sook’s role as the Queen Dowager is unforgettable. I looked forward to the scenes with her and the Queen. They both brought their A-game! The whole ensemble balanced each other. Again, the acting in this movie was great. Usually historical dramas can be drawn out in places, and slightly predictable but the pacing of this drama worked. There were not a lot of unnecessary plots and scenes. The plots all ultimately came together and gave a purposeful cohesiveness to each scene. I will miss the Queen stomping around the palace grounds! Great movie!
