Rain Liberity

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is an obvious Disney Classic. But there are multiple things about this movie I don't like, and there are some things that are preventing me from giving this movie 1 star. In my opinion, the movie was lowkey boring, and Snow White's voice is annoying. I lost interest after 30 minutes into the movie. Maybe it's because I already read the story, and I already know how it goes, there are multiple movies that I already know the story to that don't get boring after I'm only 30 minutes into it. Also, there's a pretty huge age gap between Snow White and Prince Florian. 14 and 31. (Surprise, Surprise.) Anyways, the only thing that's stopping me from giving this movie 1 star are the Dwarfs. Otherwise, there was barely a part of this movie that I actually liked it.

To be honest, the only thing that's stopping me from giving this movie 3 stars, is the song "Under the sea." The movie is decent, and it's a nice movie, but the plot is pretty much this: Teenage girl sees some human boy, teenage girl wants to become human, rebels against her father, exchanges her voice to some sea witch, skips a few parts, and they live happily ever after. The end.

So obviously, there are multiple reasons why people don't like this movie, historical inaccuracy, boring, white washed, etc. And quite honestly, those are only a few words to describe this movie. It's also funny, corny, questionable, and it has it's cringe moments. I personally been watching Pocahontas for as long as I could possibly remember, and I always liked it. I thought the movie was decent at most. But to be honest, it's really hard to watch knowing the obvious historical inaccuracy. I can't really say I'm surprised, because this is Disney, but if you really want real history, go watch the history channel or something. There were points in the movie were I was like "Okay, what exactly am I watching again?" Anyways, the movie has gorgeous visuals, nice songs, and the raccoon is funny too. So, I'd give this movie a 6.5/10. It isn't the worse thing I ever saw, but definitely not the best compared to Disney's other movies. And as far as historical accuracy, every time I hear the real story of Pocahontas, it changes in some type of way. If history bothers you, don't watch the movie, this is basically extreme historical fiction. So don't be surprised if you see something you don't like.
