Has a lot of potential, but they squander it. Fan boys hear me out. Difficulty is usually subjective to degree since you can usually learn or become more adjusted to game play. In some aspects you can but in others you cannot. From impossible situations in Anor Londo with archers hitting you from in front and behind while you have a ledge to walk on while theres like a 20% chance of you falling off when you swing your weapon to bosses that should be considered a cake walk becoming absolutely atrocious due to 3 cycles of arm swinging and fire while you barely have enough time in between to jump down on to a small platform (Bed of Chaos I am looking at you). Its unfair and leaves you feeling a sense of numbness rather than accomplishment even after willing your self through all this to beat the game. Difficulty shouldn’t just be a series of unfair trials on top of an innovative death mechanic. By choosing both instead of one they alienated many gamers. You want difficulty yet a rewarding experience that give you gives you a sense of accomplishment. Minimalistic story telling and all? Look at Shadow of the Colossus or Ninja Gaiden Black. Don’t waste whatever sanity and time you have on this.
