Rian Johnson's Last Jedi helped ruin this entire trilogy. He cancelled out the setup in Force Awakens, inserted his own setup in Last Jedi, and JJ Abrams had to try to fix it, and had virtually no time to figure it out. He couldn't. It's like getting a new action figure for your birthday, letting another kid borrow it, and he returns it with an arm and a leg popped off. Then when you put the arm and leg back on, it doesn't work right. Shame on Rian Johnson for being selfish enough to mess with a colleague's successful first step in a franchise and manipulating it to stamp his name on Star Wars, and shame on Disney for letting it happen. JJ Abrams did what he could to make this film work and could not successfully fix and finalize this trilogy. Especially trying to figure out a conclusion and film the whole thing in less than two years. I hope Disney learns from this and doesn't let it happen again, with Star Wars or any franchise for that matter.
