Though you are going to watch the movie anyways still I'll try to make my point as Hirani does with this film: ' Sanjay Dutt was a victim'
I admit a sympathetic potrayal of Sanjay Dutt was necessary but his character lacked empathy which even disappeared in second half.
You loosely feel connected to the first half which deals with his drug abuse and try to connect the dots in second one which focuses on his legal allegations.
Though it's emotional and moderately funny, connection between some scenes seem wierd.
The father son relationship and the friendship part keep the movie engaging with some parts getting boring.
Ranbir Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal are great in their performances.
Maybe a different treatment of film would have made it great because from a writer's point of view Sanjay Dutt has actually lived an interesting and entertaining life. Sadly it couldn't be captured in this version.
