One star is for costume and photography, the rest of this grueling mess is an unpleasant slog. Devoid of any kind of plot for the first half of the movie it feels like race based torture porn, difficult to watch, not because I'm white but because I'm not a sadist. This could have been so much better, I think the premise has potential and is undoubtedly relevant in 2021 with the world increasingly focused on the colour of one's skin rather than the content of one's character, unfortunately it's a opertunity gone awry. Clumsy and unsatisfying.

Neither leading man has charm enough break the skin on a rice pudding and when one of them starts doing his best Hugh 'golly oh, um, what I meant to say, was, well that sounds a tad, well not forward but, oh gosh, I tried to, well when I say tried I actually, gosh when was it, musta bin Wednesday night, or was it, golly, my memory is shot yada golly yada gosh yada Grant impression I knew I'd rather catch covid that watch this tosh.
