Just finished Disco Elysium. What a masterpiece!
It's a brilliant story with great characters and a pinch of surreal.
The game has everything in it, the happy and the sad, the tense and the disturbing, it has disco and rock & roll, drugs and alcohol and you can be anything in it...
I loved it to the core, it's different, it's fresh and it keeps you engaged. You want to know what's around the next corner.
"It's like a good detective drama, part goofy buddy cop fiction, part Existential Crisis-The Game, part self-discovery book, part disturbing Irvine Welsh novel, all mixed into an uncanny bag."
Simply put, Disco Elysium is one of the most refreshing, exciting and downright enjoyable RPGs released in years and if you’re a fan of sublime writing, you’ll enjoy almost every second of it.
IT'S HARDCORE TO THE MEGA! 😃
P.S.
It's like a book. 95% of the game is dialogue with other npcs and yourself. So if you don't want to read for 40+ hours this is not the game for you. There is absolutely no combat. The RPG aspect is that you can level up different aspects of yourself like logic, reaction time, composure, endurance, etc. and as those skills come up in conversation you are having not only dialogue with the npcs but also yourself on how to proceed. It is very unique, and very awesome if you are into it. One of the most extraordinary, thought provoking games I've ever played.
