At first I thought it was a stylish Neo-noir mystery with fun nods to classic cinema sprinkled throughout. But it started to get VERY interesting a few episodes in, slowly spooning on little hints that there was a lot going on behind the curtain. Let's just say, it weaves together various genres perfectly, and the twists, when they are revealed, are not jarring, but seemingly inevitable in hindsight. They best sort of mystery, for me.
Acting and directing are excellent throughout, and while we get a superb and satisfying ending, it also leaves us at a perfect starting point for season 2. Highly recommended.
