It is a good film. It is not meant to portray rape and racism as something good, it is meant to show how terrible Tony and his situation is, he is broke, going nowhere, and throwing his life away by spending all his money on clubbing and being friends with ignorant and immature losers. It is gritty and raw, not meant to be glamorous despite its deceptive exterior.
