I think these guys were playing the long game regarding plot, story and character development. I was looking forward to it. The series is very good, but watching it is kinda like hearing someone's account of the body of work as in Cliff's notes or an abiridged audio book. The short episodes, while engaging, failed to substantiate the connecting plot. I really like Simon and Nick and the supporting cast, writing and depth are all there. Here's hoping one of the other content companies pick them up.
I really can't help but think if this series had been written and produced by anyone else it would have tanked outright and we wouldn't be talking about it from a perspective of disappointment at its cancellation. Props for the hard work gents. Apologies for Amazon's short-sightedness.
