They say "write what you know", and Hillary certainly did that. Although the names are changed and it is fiction, certain high profile people are easily identified. I feel as if this novel was used to communicate things she could not reveal publically. It is an interesting window into a different world. The writing, inspite of the joint venture with a seasoned writer, is amateurish, but it moves quickly, and is entertaining.

I started watching on Netflix because I like sitcoms, and it was slow at first, but I was drawn in by the gentle humor and the contrast between the naive selfishness of the rich and their un exercised potential to be decent people. Watching the slow development of the characters into better, more independent people, without losing the personality quirks they started with has been a joy. I was especially touched by the unlikely relationship between David and his boyfriend then husband. Their love and personal conflicts is amazingly portrayed.
