The brotherhood and mateship that surrounds a caring father role is rare in these types of western shows. I often find the fathers to be cruel and rough beyond what would not normally be in real life and Costner and the crew portray it within the realms of being relateable and realistic whilst having a strong but caring father figure holding the reins. Very well done!
