What a wonderful heart warming film with some poignant parts. Having read the book I feel it really captures the atmosphere splendidly.The two protagonists, the shipwrecked boy and his dog and the solitary occupant of the island steadily build up a firm and ultimately a loving relationship.At no time does the film become mawkish never crossing the line emotionally. It is film to fill you with hope and joy and it certainly does lift your spirits.

What a witty satirical film brilliantly acted by Woody Allen & Diane Keaton & a cast of fine actors. Woody has always had a preoccupation with the meaning of love and the enigma of death. Woody is such a wonderful director,scriptwriter and actor. The major objective in the film’s plot is the assassination of Napoleon Bonaparte. What one learns at the conclusion of the film is that though death is bad it is not as spending an evening with an insurance agent as well as an extreme way of avoiding expenses! In conclusion I would say it is a thoroughly entertaining movie.

Very watchable film and as usual with any Woody Allen movies it has a witty screenplay with some degree of pathos.It has captured the mood of the period and I loved the denouement. In other reviews I have read too many other people have mistakenly tried to make comparisons with Manhattan ,Hannah And Her Sisters & Annie Hall and to my mind it is a mistake . As in other Woody Allen films there is jazz soundtrack of evergreen standards from the American Songbook.

I vividly remember seeing Dock Brief with a friend in 1962 and we both found it so slow paced,flat and utterly lacking in comedy. It was entirely a waste of 2 fine actors Peter Sellers & Richard Attenborough.I understand it was a short play written by the eminent playwright John Mortimer. We walked out of the cinema more than 60 years ago and I haven’t had the courage to watch it again!It was drab,boring and banal.

Very funny film with great performances from two protagonists Ryan Reynolds & Sandra Bullock. Seen the movies several times and it still make laugh every time.

A poignant sad film which absolutely captivated me from start to finish. An epic journey undertaken by Timothy Spall’s character. He was a self-effacing determined figure imbued with hope who ultimately achieved his goal.A thoroughly beautiful,enthralling 5 star film.

This fast paced energetic film combines suspense,romance,fun,with zany comedy and countless thrills. It is a stylish spy spoof movie with two excellent protagonists Cameron Diaz & Tom Cruise.Suspend your belief and enjoy the breakneck journey! It is full of unbelievable escapades and it is so totally.absorbing.

Excellent film,fast moving and very relevant even for these modern times.Some lovely touching dialogue between the chauffeur Tony and his boss Dr Don Shirley the renowned classical/jazz pianist.It highlighted some blatant racial prejudice which was inexcusable! Remarkable film well worth watching.

An enchanting evocation of past Christmases in US.It was a different world then lacking sophistication with simple pleasures and materialistic values.It was a charming portrayal of life at school,in the family home & of course Christmas.I found it so nostalgic and immensely enjoyable.

I came to this film full of anticipation and high expectations that the director Tom Ford would present a portrayal of a gay man lost without his great love after 16 years of a fulfilling and loving relationship. Instead I found the film to be tedious and laboured.What a complete waste of an opportunity and a wonderful cast including Julianne Moore & Colin Firth. Very disappointing!
